The true test of my marriage

It's that wonderful time of year when you can feel the bite of fall in the air. The weather is perfect for a bowl of hot chili and curling up with your favorite book (or your favorite four legged friend). One of my favorite things about this time of year is playoff baseball.

Most years my beloved Cardinals make it into the playoffs, and I get to watch them battle it out with other teams. There's just something magical about October baseball. The drama, the energy and the intensity. This year, however, we have a huge problem.

My husband comes from a long line of die hard LA Dodger fans. I know! It's crazy! Unfortunately, my Cards are facing Bob's stupid, stinky Dodgers in round one of the playoffs. Not only is my husband a Dodgers fan, he has an intense hatred for all things St. Louis Cardinals! I never claimed the man was normal!

It's hard for us to watch the games together because we both take it pretty seriously. He takes it personally if the Dodgers lose, but especially if they lose to the lowly Cardinals. Afterall, the Dodgers did have the best record in the league, and let's not worry about what Manny Ramirez may or may not have juiced himself with because Albert Pujols is probably on something too. I just don't get him sometimes!

Anyway, if my marriage survives this series, one of us will have a really fun post-season. Just be aware that if you hear of some sort of crazy domestic situation in Belleville that revolves around the MLB playoffs, it's probably us!

Oh yeah ... GO CARDS!!
