ATTENTION: Today is cancelled!

For fear of something terrible going wrong, I am cancelling today. Why you ask? Well, let me tell you.
First of all, when I woke up this morning I couldn't move because an interesting assortment of dogs was sleeping on top of me. Believe it or not, the little maltese takes up much more space than either of the labs! No big deal though, I was nice and toasty.
As per our normal morning routine, I go downstairs, leash the dogs and get ready to take them out. As I open the door, the two labs begin to bolt because they see the neighbor's cat dashing down the street. This is a problem because two nights ago the same thing happened and they pulled me down and dragged me across the yard. I managed to hold them back this morning until Bob could come take one of them and help me out.
We come back in, I get ready for work and then feed the labs their breakfast in an effort to quell the bouncing. Afterall, they were starving since we never feed them. Little Champ was out of food, so I was making him a concoction of leftover rice and carrots. Since I was feeling generous, I thought I would share the carrots with the other dogs too. Hunter laid down and took his carrot very nicely. Then there was Schlafly. I held it up and was giving her a command, which she promptly ignored in favor of just taking the carrot. She jumped up and bit down, right into my cuticle which, of course, started bleeding and throbbing. I had to take the time to clean it and bandage it before I could make coffee and get breakfast together.
Wouldn't you know it, we were running late. No time for coffee, and cold Poptarts constituted breakfast. Luckily traffic was ok.
I dropped Bob off at work and headed to Starbuck's for a Venti Americano. Mmm mmm. I pull out my wallet to get the gift card Bob gave me, but it wasn't there. Oh well ... such is life.
At this point in my morning, I'm still ok. I get my coffee, head to work and start walking to campus with Deepa ... and then it happened.

A freaking bird pooped on the lid of my coffee!!! What the heck is going on here???? For this reason I am officially cancelling the rest of the day in favor of going home and hiding under the covers until tomorrow. You are welcome to join me in this endeavor (but at your own house ... unless you want to clean mine!).

I would climb back into bed, too! The good thing about a bad day is that the next day holds so much promise! God never puts us through too many bad days at one time. He knows our limits!
And like Grandma J says, "What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger!" (I hate when she says that to me.)
